Army captures BIFF training camps By: 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade
On the night of August 5, 2012, the lawless elements of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) simultaneously harassed military camps and detachments in Guindulungan, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Datu Unsay, Shariff Aguak and Datu Hoffer. The atrocities were done during the early days of the celebration of the month of Ramadan, the holiest Islamic feast. At least 33,000 civilians were displaced during the height of the atrocities.
Colonel Hermoso is new 6ID Inspector General
The 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division warmly welcomes Colonel Dickson P. Hermoso who assumed as the Division Inspector General (DIG) on 01 August 2012, replacing Colonel Ademar T. Tomaro who was recently designated as Deputy Brigade Commander of 602nd Infantry (Liberator) Brigade based in Camp Lucero, Nasapian, Carmen, North Cotabato.
6ID strengthens Company Commanders’ combat leadership
The 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division hosted this year’s Company Commanders’ Symposium held at 6ID Officers’ Clubhouse, Camp Siongco, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao from September 19-21, 2012. Company Commanders of organic and OPCON units of the Division participated in the three-day activity. The symposium was aimed to sharpen the leadership skills of Company Commanders, the Army’s “cutting-edge” peacemakers. This was part of a series of workshops for Company Commanders under the Combat Leadership Enhancement Program (CELP) of the Philippine Army.

601st Brigade holds an ecumenical mass of thanksgiving
The 601st (Unifier) Brigade headed by Colonel Edmundo R. Pangilinan sponsored an ecumenical mass of thanksgiving at the new Brigade Headquarters in Park Kapayapaan, Brgy Kalandagan, Tacurong City on September 12, 2012 with the theme: “God protects and makes us strong; and He makes us victorious… Isaiah 41:10”
6ID attends IPDEV’s Project Sounding Board meeting
Various stakeholders from the different sectors gathered to attend the Project Sounding Board meeting of the “Recognition of Rights of the Indigenous Peoples in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao for their Empowerment and Sustainable Development” (IPDEV) Project held at Institute for Autonomy and Governance (IAG) Conference Hall, UMEX Building, Notre Dame University, Cotabato City on September 20, 2012. 6DPAO Deputy Chief Captain Aurora A. Rabang represented the Division in the meeting.
