On December 02, 2013, Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Executive Secretary Atty. Alaisa M. Alamia enlightened the officers, enlisted personnel and civilian employees of the command during the flag-raising ceremony at Headquarters 6ID, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao regarding the ARMM’s plans, programs and major peace and development thrusts.
Atty. Alamia stressed out that it is important for the soldiers to understand what the ARMM is doing as it is committed to peace and development and progress in here Mindanao. “The ARMM has embarked on a vision until 2016 to ensure that there will be a smooth transition from the ARMM government to the Bangsamoro Entitiy,” she said.
The Executive Secretary discussed about the five (5) major programs of ARMM which is divided into clusters, namely: cluster on governance and anti-corruption; cluster on peace, security, human rights and the transition of the Bangsamoro with the AFP, PNP and Civil Society Organizations; cluster on economic and development and economic linkages; cluster on human development and poverty allocation; and cluster on humanitarian emergency action and response team through ARMM “Heart”.
Atty. Alamia further elaborated that the ARMM “Heart” will be helpful when there will be cases if all systems are down there a will be a group of people who are ready to conduct response and relief like in the case of Typhoon “Yolanda”. In relation to this, she also thanked the 6ID for its vast contribution in helping the “Yolanda” victims in Visayas region.
“In commemoration and celebration of the National Human Rights Consciousness Week, all of us must have one heart as friends, and as brothers and sisters. We are family, one nation, one country, and one goal, there’s no other goal but peace and development for Mindanao and the entire country,” she added.
On December 09, 2013 (Monday), Honorable Maglangit, Mayor of Kapatagan, Lanao del Sur attended the flag raising ceremony as guest speaker wherein he detailed the transformation of his municipality from “war zone to peace zone”. Relatedly, he first told soldiers that the Municipality of Kapatagan, is located along Narciso Ramos Highway in the boundaries of Maguindanao and Lanao del Sur. “Kapatagan has vision of sustainable peace and development through good governance,” the Mayor said. “This means that we are trying our best to maintain what have started after the year 2000 of all-out-war during Estrada Administration and we are trying to develop what was left after”, he added.
The Mayor also boasted that with the help of the national government and concerned non-government organizations, Kapatagan was developed further with the political will of his administration.After the war, the administration has declared Kapatagan as a Zone of peace followed by the establishment of Kapatagan Multi-Inter Agency Committee (KMIAC) that monitors all its activities. “Through this Kapatagan has sustain its peace and order and development s are on-going,” Mayor Maglangit averred.
In closing, Mayor Maglangit thanked of 6ID under the leadership of 6ID Commander.

The dialogue with the local chief executives and chief of government agencies is one of the priority programs of Maj General Gapuz as 6ID Commander.
