GENERAL SALIPADA K PENDATUN, MAGUINDANAO - A notorious kidnap for ransom suspect was collared by joint elements of the 33rd Infantry (Makabayan) Battalion and GSKP policemen in a checkpoint here at noontime today.
The suspects were travelling on board a motorcycle with firearms hidden in a sack when the security forces pounced on them in Badak village here.
Cpt Rogelio Agustin Jr., the Commanding Officer of Charlie Company of 33rd IB identified the suspects as Adam Ugalinan, 44, and Pahmodin Adam, 16. Two M1 Garand Rifles were confiscated from the suspects.
The suspects were promptly turned over to GSKP PNP for the filing of criminal cases against them.
The elder Ugalinan is the primary suspect in the kidnapping of Pipao Ang in Mlang Cotabato during the incumbency of former Governor Manny Pinol.
Major General Arnel Dela Vega has directed the troops to remain vigilant due to the threats of violent attacks during the lenten season. Dela Vega has also commended the troops for the latest accomplishment.
"I commend the soldiers for their dedication to duty. They have continued conducting security patrols to protect the communities," he said.
