After almost two years commanding the 7th Infantry Tapat Battalion, Col Orlando D Edralin bids farewell to his troops and supporters in a simple turn-over of command ceremony at the battalion headquarters in Lower Paatan, Kabacan, North Cotabato in the afternoon of June 9, 2016.
The ceremony was presided over by the Commander of the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division, Maj General Edmundo R Pangilinan and was attended by local chief executives and stakeholders within the area of operations of 7IB.
MGen Pangilinan congratulated the outgoing Commander for successfully steering the Tapat Battalion to greatness after it has accomplished operations which have contributed immensely for 6ID to be adjudged as the "Best Division" of the Philippine Army last year (2015).
"Col Edralin has finished the race because he has kept the fate", MGen Pangilinan said in his message.
"It is my challenge to the new commander, LTC Lomas-e to make sure that he should perform not only at par with Col Edralin but more so, strive to surpass his predecessor's accomplishments", he added addressing the newly installed Battalion Commander.
The Kampilan Division Commander also expressed his gratitude to all local chief executives who had continuously supported the battalion in its quest for peace within their area. He further urged them to continue extending their assistance to the new commander LTC Ciriaco A Lomas-e.
Tapat Battalion is one of the organic units of the division whose battalion headquarters was formerly stationed at Poblacion Pikit, North Cotabato prior to their transfer to Kabacan.
