At 7:30 in the morning today (June 12, 2016), a flagraising ceremony attended by the officers and men of the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division, Philippine Army was held infront of the command building in commemoration of the 118th Philippine Independence Day Celebration.
During the ceremony, the Commander, 6ID Maj General Edmundo R Pangilinan read the message of the Acting Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines Gen Glorioso Miranda AFP and he also subsequently gave his message to the Kampilan troops.
"Sa ating pagdiriwang na ito, naway gamitin nating inspirasyon ang mga sakripisyo ng ating mga ninuno na nagdulot at nagbigay sa atin ng tinatamasang kapayapaan at katiwasayan sa ngayon," the 6ID Commander said.
He also urged the troops to stay focus in their individual mandate and to remain steadfast in their given work and responsibilities. MGen Pangilinan also recognized the Kampilan soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice during the past and current campaigns that the command have undertaken in order to ensure that peace, progress and freedom thrives in Central Mindanao.
The activity is annually conducted in order to give recognition to the efforts of the Filipino heroes who are responsible for the country's freedom today.
