Seven teams from the organic and operation control units of 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division will compete for a Basketball meet, which formally opened yesterday (June 20, 2016) at the 6ID Gymnasium.
6ID Commander Major General Edmundo R. Pangilinan, in his message, said that the sports activity is timely after the accomplishments and victories that the 6ID had in the recent months to include the election challenges.
“Basketball will teach us about team work, to get along with others and to work a common goal despite our differences, sports do not only benefit us physically but it can also help us cope with the pressures and daily stressful activities that we have in our environment,” Major Pangilinan stressed.
The basketball meet is initiated by Major General Pangilinan as a respite from all the hard works of the Kampilan troops. The participating teams were: Division Headquarters; Philippine Ariforce (TOG-12); Tenants Units; 601st Infantry Brigade; 602nd Infantry Brigade; 603rd Infantry Brigade; and 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade and they will compete for two weeks.
