Camp Siongco, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao – 6th Infantry Division Commander presides over the joint turnover of the 6th Infantry (Redskin) Battalion and the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel yesterday (June 23, 2016) at 6IB Headquarters, Brgy Matling, Malabang, Lanao del Sur.
Lt Colonel Ruben G. Aquino, the outgoing Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel, replaces outgoing 6IB Commander Lt Colonel Michael A. Santos.
Lt Colonel Santos served as the Commanding Officer of 6IB for more than 2 years of productive and steadfast stint that made it as one of the best battalions of 6ID. He will again assume as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel, G1 to replace Lt Colonel Aquino. Prior to his appointment as the 6IB Commander, he already served the Division as the G1 on 2014 for a few months.
The event was attended by military unit commanders and officers, local chief executives, academic institution officials, and members of the media.
In his message, Major General Pangilinan congratulated Lt Colonel Santos for steering 6IB to greatness. “I commend you for your excellent leadership and on how you have outmaneuvered every obstacle as the Redskin Commander,” he added.
The Commander reminded Lt Colonel Aquino of the new and bigger responsibility as the new Commanding Officer of 6IB. “Take with you the experiences you have learned during your stay with the Division Headquarters,” he said.
Turnover of Commands and Change of Chiefs of Offices are normal in a military organization in order for every officer and unit to grow and learn new experiences.
