BGen Edmundo R Pangilinan AFP assumes command as the 32nd Commander of the Philippine Army’s fight ingest division, the 6th Infantry (KAMPILAN) Division. Faced with high expectations and challenges, the new Commander of 6th Infantry (KAMPILAN) Division, PA is confident in fulfilling the mandated tasks as he tells everyone that “we all have a common purpose and desire, that is to be committed and to be of service to our country in order to achieve a secure and progressive environment.” “Commit to the Lord whatever you do and he will establish your plans”- his opening words upon his assumption of the command. With this, he takes the responsibility of leading 6ID with humility and unwavering resolve to carry out the strategic imperatives of the Internal Peace and Security Plan (IPSP) “Bayanihan” and the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR) towards development in Central Mindanao. He assures everybody that the 6ID will remain committed to its duty to uphold the primacy of the peace process and will fully support the implementation of the GPH-MILF peace agreement. He sternly warns however, hard stance will be taken against those who do not want peace as 6ID will seriously enforce rule of law against grievous terror acts committed by lawless elements. As we feel the effects of climate change, he tells everybody that 6ID will strengthen its disaster rescue and relief operations (DRRO) capabilities through joint training and capability upgrade with LGUs, NGOs and other volunteer organizations. Moreover, the new Commander solicits to all “Kampilan” Officers, Enlisted Personnel and civilian employees their wholehearted cooperation and support in all undertakings. Quoting the CGPA guidance, ”we shall give our best and raise the bar of performance, mediocrity and failure shall never be an option.” He said that we must continue to take a more aggressive and determined stance as we draw closer to 2028, during which we should have attained our vision of “a world class army that is a source of national pride.” In order to achieve this endeavor, BGen Pangilinan asserts that every member of 6ID shall be showcasing an impression of E R P, which stands for Empathetic, Reliable and Proactive. “Empathetic - as public servants, there is no greater demonstration of serving the people by sympathetic, compassionate, considerate and kindhearted. We have to fully understand and adopt with our operational environment and be culturally sensitive. Reliable - our stakeholders will take hold of what we advocate if they see in us the representation as being dependable, steadfast, and trustworthy soldiers. Proactive - action speaks louder than words; as soldiers we are seen as practical, hand-on, positive, upbeat and always on the go in accomplishing every given tasks,” he expounded. At about 3 o’clock in the afternoon after his assumption of command, commander 6ID presided the first command conference to relay/convey his guidance. “Let us do our job, everybody should do his part; from driver to clerk he should give his share on the piece of the pie”. “We should work with the available resources and means at hand,” he concluded
