MGEN EDMUNDO R PANGILINAN O-8817 AFP
BGEN EDMUNDO R PANGILINAN, ARMED FORCES OF THE PHILIPPINES is the 32nd Commander of the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division who assumed post last 26 May 2014.
He was born in San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija on 11 November 1960. He entered the prestigious Philippine Military Academy in Baguio City in 1979 and graduated with the Matikas Class of 1983 on 12 March 1983. He was then commissioned as a regular officer of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
His colorful military career as a 2LT started when he was deployed as Executive Officer of Bravo Company, 10th Infantry Battalion, 1st Infantry Division. After three years, he was designated as Company Commander of the same unit. His next command position was as Battalion Commander of the 59th Infantry Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, Philippine Army in May 2000. He was also designated as the Brigade Commander of the 601st Unifier Brigade in Tacurong City prior to his present position.
Among his other significant duty assignments were the following: Battalion Commander of the Reconnaisance Battalion, 2ID; Head of the General Studies Department, TRADOC, Philippine Army; U2, SOLCOM, AFP; Commanding Officer, APMC and Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel, G1, Philippine Army..
BGEN PANGILINAN had undergone numerous schoolings local and abroad. He is a graduate of the Scout Ranger Course at SRTS in 1983; Military Intelligence Officer Course at TIS, ISG, PA in 1989; the Infantry Officer Basic Course at Combat Arms School, TRADOC in 1989; the Basic Airborne Course at the Special Forces School, SFG, PA in 1992; the Regimental Officer Advance Course in the School of Infantry, Australia in 1994; the Infantry Officer Advance Course at Combat Arms School, TRADOC in 1995 and the Command General Staff Course at Command General Staff College in 2003. In order to further hone his skills and training, he took up his Masters in Management Studies at the University of New South Wales, Australia in 2004.
These trainings equipped BGEN PANGILINAN with the necessary proficiency and skills in holding various command and staff positions that led to a sterling and colorful military career.
He is a recipient of the numerous awards and decorations such as: three Distinguished Service Stars; a Gold Cross Medal; two Bronze Cross Medals; Gawad sa Kaunlaran Medal; various Military Merit and Commendation Medals; Military Civic Action Medals; Silver Wing Medals; Combat Kagitingan Badges; Letters of Commendation and Plaques both from the Military and Civilian entities.
BGEN PANGILINAN is married to Mrs Ruth Santillan Pangilinan and they are blessed with two sons: Edmond John and Edmund Christian Pangilinan.
